Co-op customers raised a huge £2,432 for Bexley Mencap in the last year through the Co-op’s Local Community Fund. Nick Marsden, Bexley Mencap’s Income & Development Officer, and Mencap member, Feras, attended the celebration at the Co-op’s Falconwood store.
Nick said ‘Bexley Mencap is very grateful to the Co-op’s Local Community Fund for supporting our range of groups, activities and welfare services to support people with a learning disability and their carers.’
In the last year, Bexley Mencap provided nearly 6,000 hours of support or activities for members as well providing direct 1:1 welfare support to 33 members and hosting 176 Family Support sessions.
Bexley Mencap has also been selected as a charity for the current Local Community Fund year from October 2024 – October 2025.
