Rob likes to play in goal and is an Arsenal fan. His favourite player is Arsenal captain Martin Odegaard. ‘Football keeps you fit’ he says, ‘it’s fun and I enjoy trying to save penalties.’ Rob also follows Arsenal Women’s team and goes to matches at the Emirates stadium.
Tolani is a Chelsea supporter and likes to play on the wing and cut inside to score goals. He’s also in the Walking Group that goes around nearby Danson Park, so perhaps Walking Football is the next logical step!
Nicola enjoyed dribbling the ball around the cones and is also in Bexley Mencap’s tennis group so she’s already used to hitting balls and making passing shots on the move.
West Ham fan, Feras, is also a Keep Fit member, and is looking forward to helping lead the warm up sessions before we start playing. ‘It’s important to exercise properly,’ he says, ‘it helps you play better.’
With an age range of between 20 – 70 years, the Walking Football group covers all four corners of the pitch and with a bit more practice who knows where their winning ways might take them.
